I Forgot The Most Important things Duh

I I I I Iwas so swept up in updating the sports that I forgot about some super important things. I tell ya, if my head wasn't screwed on I would leave it at home.
Lily got baptised!!!!!!
It was awesome. We had her baptism here in Vegas and had some super good friends there to support her. We are sorry some of the family had to miss it. We had a lunch at the house after and had fun just hanging out with family and friends. Aunt Heather made Lily her dress and it was so cute. It was totally Lily. Bright and cheerful with a big flower. She wore the flower on her dress for the baptism pictures and in her hair on Sunday. She is so fashionable.

Also Tad had a birthday, Yeah!!!! We love Tad very much and I am glad he is my hubby and my BFF. He is a good provider and a great dad. He has really put a lot of time, effort and money into the kids sports this year. I love that he has a job that brings him home at a decent hour so he can play with the kiddos. Love you Tad and Happy Birthday, This next year is gonna ROCK!!!!

Wow What a Spring

okay so I am a huge slacker in the blogging department. If you have talked to me in the last 2 months, then you know blogging is the least of my worries. Between Cole's 2 practices and 2 game a week, Clay's soccer practices and games, Lily's practices and 2 games as week. I thought I would be able to do more, well, cuz I thought I was super woman. Anyway here is the crazy update...
Clay is playing soccer and rocks at it. This is his second season and is the team captain. He plays goalie and middle half back. He has yet to score a goal but has stopped many. His coach is awesome and has alot of fun with the kids. Clay is doing good in school, cant wait for the 4th grade. He has learned alot about patience this year and getting along with girls. hahaha
Cole is doing a good job in baseball. He is the oldest kid on the team so his coach has told him he has to be responsible cuz the boys look up to him. He is trying, but he still is Cole. The team is doing great they are 8-4. They are in 4th place. Cole is going to try out for All stars this year so wish him luck. Cole is doing great in school. He still has some focusing issues but he has really grown up alot this year. I am amazed that he will be 12 in 2 months. Wow I am way to young to have a 12 year old. Right, mom?
Lily has finished softball, boy am I glad, one less place to get a kid to. She had so much fun. She got to play with girls her age and she did great. She was our main catcher, until she hurt herslef, and then she played short stop and pitcher. She did alright for it being her 1st season. Lily wants to play again in the fall and we will see about getting her on an existing team. Her team this year was a soccer team that wanted to play but realized they likjed soccer more.
If anyone here in Vegas knows a nice coach for 10U softball, let me know!
Lily is doing great in school, She loves to talk in class, suprize, and loves to read. I finally have a kid who can't put the books down!!!

Anyway, Tad and I are trying to survive. We are both working hard and paying the bills. Sounds familiar, huh. We might complain alot about running 24/7 but we really so love it and we love to see the monkeys do well and achive the goals they have set.
Anyway, until my next post, whcih by the looks of it will be in NEVER!!!!

Weekly Sports update

Okay so I am gonna update this weekly with their w/l and any cool pictures. I thought about doing it after every game but there is no way to stay that ontop of it.

We had a good week. AS you know from the earlier post Cole pitched on Thur and did okay. His team won and is now 1-1. They now have an 11 day break for Spring Break. We still have practices as normal.

Clay played on Sat and was made team captain. Coach said as long as he is positive he can stay Captain. He is an amazing goalie. He is not afraid to jump on a ball even if there is a foot attached to it. He is happy on the soccer field and has a great time with his friends. He is 2 wins-1 loss

Lily played on Tue and Sat. They don't really keep score but we know they lost on Tue and won on Sat. She is the tallest and heavyiest hitter on the team so she always goes last to bat and brings everyone home. She is a catcher and short stop. Its nice to see her with a group of girls playing softball. On a side note her burn looks amazing it looks better everyday. There should be no scaring if she doesnt pick the scabs.

We are super excited to visti everyone over Easter and can't wait to get there. See you all in less than a week.

Kids and Sports UGH I am tired!!

Cole's in the park home run. It hit the fence
Cole's wind up/ Cole on the mound

Well we are in full swing at Baseball. Cole is the only one playing baseball this season, he is a Yankee. I know all pf you that know Tad knows he is NOT a Yankee fan, but oh well, you become a fast friends of the NY when you have to put on a shirt and hat 3 times a week.
THe team played on Sat and lost their first game. They did really well, Cole pitched the last part of the game and did really well. 15 pitches and 3 guys out.
He played again tonight only he was starting pitcher, he did okay again, thier was a crazy mom that was taking pictures and broke his consentraiton. It is gonna be a long season with my eyes closed. I can not watch him pitch. Anyway they won 18-9. Now we have an 11 day break for Spring Break.
I will try to update this as much as I can remember with all the kids games. I know thats what Grandad Steve wants.

Clay is playing soccer this spring. He is amazing he played alst fall for the 1st time and we have a natural soccer kid. He is playing for the same coach as the fall witch is nice there is a commradery between them. Well they played on Saturday an double header, man those are tough. He did good, they played him as goalie and he stopped a lot of balls, only let 1 in. The team voted on a team captain and he got the most votes so he is the team captain. We are proud of him. Hope he can keep it positive.

Also an update----Lilys burn is getting much better. She had 2 of the 4 blisters pop so we are working hard to stop the scaring. She is asleep so I cant get a current picture, I will update her soon.

Caution

So we had a little mis hap this week in the Shurtleff house. I know total shocker, one of my kids hurt themselves wow thats new. hahaha.
Anyway, the kids were home on Monday cuz Lily was sick and I didnt want to get the Babysitters kids sick. Lily wanted Ramen and it was the 1st thign she wanted to eat in 4 days so I told Cole to be VERY careful and make Lily Ramen in the microwave. Well he did and set her Ramen down and she sat at the tabel like normal, well the Ramen tipped over and spilled on her. She has 2nd dgree burns on her chest. The Dr said she was lucky to only have 3 blisters. This picture is after 2 days. She is starting to scab over and peel a little.
So I ask you to BE CAREFUL. Even as a mom this is somthing I could have done. She was just sitting down at the table, Normal, that was way out of control fast. On a good note the Dr told me she had an ear infection too, that is why she was sick.
She is on a Sulfa cream and Amoxicilin, both of which I am super allergic to so Tad gets to take care of her.
I love Lily and I am glad that the burn wasnt as bad as it could have been.
Take care of your little ones and stay away from the Ramen. haha.

Our Temple Anniversary/Valentines Day

Happy Anniversary to me and Tad. We have been sealed for 10 years. I remember the day like it was yesterday. Picture it if you will...Cloudy, rainy, Bountiful. We had all our family there as Tad took me to the temple to be sealed as a family for all eternity. I am greatful he was patient with me and trusted me and loved me enough to wait for me to accept the gospel. He is a great man and I am so happy we are an eternal family, he is stuck with me even in heaven. Anyway, he bought me these amazing flowers and he also bought Bamboo flooring. We are going to attempt insalling in the next couple of weeks. We have to get it done before baseball season or it is gonna wait until June.
